We grow olive trees. But above all, we cultivate soil and care for the place we call home.
Without living soil, there are no olives. And without olives, there is no SINUO.
For five generations, we have been farming in Cambrils, in southern Catalonia.
Not only olive trees. Also orchards, vegetables and fruit.
VerdCamp is the expression of our way of farming.
It reflects how we understand the land, nature and time.
For many years, we have practised certified organic agriculture.
Without synthetic chemicals.
FOR US, ORGANIC IS NOT THE DESTINATION.
IT IS THE STARTING POINT.
REGENERATION MEANS GIVING BACK
It means leaving the soil in a better condition than we found it.
That is why we maintain permanent plant cover between our olive trees. We do not remove it. We integrate it.
These covers:
— Protect the soil from erosion
— Retain moisture
— Fix nutrients
— Support soil microbiology
— Create real biodiversity
When spring arrives, the fields fill with wildflowers that form part of VerdCamp’s natural landscape.
Bees return. Pollinating insects return. Butterflies, birds and beneficial wildlife return. Together, they coexist with the olive trees and help maintain the natural balance of the land.
We do not till because we want the soil to breathe. We avoid unnecessary compaction. We respect the natural structure of the earth. We work to increase soil biodiversity and support the natural water cycle.
As we often say at home:
We should not fight nature. We should understand it and walk alongside it.
We do not seek to produce more. We seek to produce better.
